A Guest lecturer of EFLU University was sentenced three year imprisonment for trying to molest a student. The Court has given judgement on the case filed by the student against English lecturer. The incident took back 4 years ago, in 2011 and the judgement was finally given today.
According to the sources, the Guest lecturer was convicted with three year imprisonment by the local court as he allegedly molested his student before four years in the campus. He has been fined Rs.5000 by the Fifth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge as well. The accused Raj Kumar Mohanty had been reportedly molesting a student in the campus. The student lodged a complaint to the Police shortly.
EEFLU Guest Lecturer Convicted
A Research Scholar complained to the Osmania University Police that Mohanty, an English lecturer has misbehaved with her. She lodged a complaint to the Police on December 14th 2011. Relating on this issue, Osmania University inspector V.Ashok Reddy said that according to the student, the lecturer invited her to his room to discuss about the research work. When she attended to his room, he discussed about research matters for some time and after that he started to try to molest her.
The police registered a case under section 354 act( Assault or Criminal force to outrage modesty of a woman) of Indian Penal Code. They filed FIR against him based on the students’s complaint. The Lecturer is a native of Cuttack, Orissa and has been working as a guest lecturer for the subject of linguistics and phonetics at the EFLU University. The student is pursuing her Phd. However according to the inspector, He was granted bail short after the sentence was given. The convicted is reportedly going to challenge the court’s judgement subsequently.
