A B. Arch student has committed suicide in her hostel room due to ragging, in Acharya Nagarjuna University Architecture college.
Rishikeshwari ends her life by committing suicide
M.Rishikeshwari, 18, daughter of Murali Krishna of Warangal ended her life by hanging her self to the ceiling in her hostel room in Priyadarshani Hostel, Acharya Nagarjuna University. Even though she was rushed to the hospital by her friends, she died on the way. She was unable to bear the ragging and harassment by her seniors. She wrote a suicide note with blood in which she mentioned the reason behind committing suicide and being unable to concentrate on her studies. She joined the University with lot of hopes and big dreams. She wrote that she faced problems with the seniors since the joining day and this made her depressed.
She was always unhappy and she wanted to discontinue her studies due to ragging, but thinking of hurting her parents she continued to bear the problems at the College and hostel. Rishikeshwari also mentioned to donate her organs after death to the needy. Rishikeshwari was good at studies and she secured good marks in the first year. She often intimated her parents about ragging through conversation on phone and through letters. The Management, shocked by the death of Rishikeshwari has ordered a detailed probe into the mystery behind her death.
The Management has already suspended two seniors related to this case. They were second year B.arch students named Jayacharan and Srinivas. The management has informed the anti ragging committee to deal strictly in this matter. According to the Pedakakani Police, they have registered a case against three students including a girl in relation with the suicide. In an investigation, they revealed that they have been harassing the girl since four months.
