Actress Ramya Krishnan celebrates her birthday

Actress Ramya Krishnan is celebrating her 48th birthday. She was born in 1967 in a Tamil Brahman family in Chennai. She has completed more than 200 films in her acting career and has acted opposite leading stars in more than five languages. She has worked in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi industries.

They have a son named Rithwik and she resides with her family in a Beach House in Chennai. Ramya Krishnan is the niece of Tamil Comedian actor C Ramaswamy. She is an excellent talented dancer in Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi and Western dance as well. She has given many stage performances..

Ramya Krishnan started her acting career at the age of 13, while she was studying in eighth standard. She acted in a Malayalam film, which starred Mammooty and Mohanlal in reload roles. However, the film was delayed and released in 1986. Her first film in Tamil was Vellai Manasu in 1985 opposite Y G Mahendra. In Telugu, her first film was Bhale Mitrulu in 1987 but she got fame through K.Viswanath’s Suthradharulu in 1987.  She has attracted female audience by playing the role of Goddess Durga Devi in both Tamil and Telugu. She had to face a tough competition in Telugu and Tamil film industr  in the 80’s and 90’s midst leading heroines like  Radha, Bhanupriya, Vijayshanthi, Meena, Ramba, Roja, Soundarya. She recieved two Nandi awards from the Government of Andhra pradesh and one National award from the Indian Government.

Ramya krishnan did a towering performance in recent multilingual flick Baahubali. She has gained reputation and fame through this movie again. She came into notice of leading directors and producers in the film industry. She plays the role of Sivagami in the film.
