Ron Paul needs a show or forum to continue to communicate with the people and to continue to educate the people.

    • Remnant08

I’m sure he has this planned. He has said he will still be very active in the liberty movement, and he told Neal Cavuto yesterday that he will now be more freed up to talk about the business cycle and economics which are his true passions. I believe we will hear more from him now than every before.

    • Maurko

He has only suspended his campaign but I do not believe that he has officially withdrawn from the race. I’m hoping that he will have purchased all available network prime time a day or two before the election and spell out exactly what his platform is. Its wishful thinking on my part but a nice thought at that.

      • callmeann

If you think it will do anything for us to wait until a day or two before the election, then you don’t understand how it works. His name has to be on the ballot and they’ve likely all been printed, already.

What my question is – how could romney destroy Ron Paul? What does he have that we don’t know about? A patriot fighting for individual liberty, and speaking what the founding fathers and the Constitution stand for is what he speaks.

Basically if romney has the balls to claim that he could destroy him then he is basically saying he could destroy the meaning of the Constitution and the founding fathers.

I would have said… go for it!

    • Remnant08

Romney would lie and put out false and damaging stuff. That’s all he could do, and what Doug was saying is he has a lot of money and we don’t have the money to fight that type of thing.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Evelyn-G-Johnson/588051661 Evelyn G. Johnson

i got a letter from Romney asking me to donate to his campaign he was asking for 78 thousand dollars lol im not rich, i would never do that. besides i give to Ron Paul and thats because i believe in him

    • jmsptrk

remnant08 is right. with all his cash, all romney would have to do is create and run a bunch of inflammatory TV ads spewing that BS about the newsletters ad naseum and people would eat it up. truth be damned. it would have had ron paul on the defensive nonstop, without the money to fight him on the airwaves (only to see it repeated in the newspapers, blogs, etc.), and it would have destroyed the credibility of the liberty movement in the eyes of a lot of people who aren’t educated about the circumstances. which, clearly, is the majority of americans. it would have set the liberty movement back a decade. instead, dr paul was big enough to absorb yet another body blow in order that his ideas on liberty can live on. love dr paul. it’s never been about him.

i cried when the RNC did what they did to him that makes me feel that we dont have a say, that those 10 big people in that back room get to decided who and what and i dont like how some of them talked to the delegates who the hell do they think they are im sick to death of this. we love u Ron Paul and u are and will always be our president, i believe when Jesus comes he will give Ron a big part in the NEW Government that he will set up . God Bles Ron Paul and his family and we will never forget u, and we will continue with u. we know that the Elites and the NWO had to have someone who would continue on doing what Obama didnt get to finish, ooh Romney will do it no doubt, or he wouldnt have been put in place, mormonisum is CULT, God will not bless this country with that or gays or abortions need i go on > its to late the end of times is here, the mark of the beast is here how is Romney going to handle that one huh? i have no faith in this countrys leaders except Ron Paul and his son there may be a few out there but not much

the newsletters BS? it’s not BS – he’s just racist. nothing illegal about being racist – one should just be smart enough to keep their dumb bigoted mouth shut about it if they’re in politics and not sign off on racist propaganda. he didn’t change a damned thing, the liberty movement is already 20 decades late, romney’s a piece of shit and it wouldn’t have changed the progressive vote nor would it have convinced people to vote for RP if they were somehow ‘undecided’ on the fact that RP was/is/will go down as the losing-est, least voting, oldest joke of a senator ever to garner the largest, least coherent group of supporter made up of the ever mindless 18-25 demographic (people who haven’t voted or were dumb enough to vote for obama the first time)

        • jmsptrk

oh no. really? wow. that’s really important because i care what you say, person i don’t know who presents no facts. you clearly need more adderall so you can post more comments on more sites and blogs this morning.

    • Liz

you have said it and I love it

    • callmeann

You can make it look bad enough, even with nothing to work with. It’s easy to trump up a false flag. Then, even if it’s false, he has to spend every interview answering the same damn questions instead of talking about his message.

  • ghendric

The GOP is a big fascist piece of shit now (pardon my French).. they should leave America and go someplace where people are like them.. They’ve lost my vote. I’m officially done with them. They shouldn’t have done that to Ron Paul. If something happens to them in November it’s their own fault… bunch of retards..

    • jmsptrk

Doug Wead avoided and skirted around several questions. It’s a bunch of BS where he’s saying that problem started with Ron Paul not attacking Romney. Jesse Benton deliberately torpedoed the campaign with his announcement that had no point or purpose other than to destroy the Ron Paul campaign. I fully believe there was complete treason from within the Ron Paul campaign. If it wasn’t for those lawyers getting together, not connected with the campaign, we wouldn’t have gotten this far. No, something stunk from within the campaign and all Doug Wead was doing in this interview was making lame excuses and trying to avoid answering questions truthfully.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=608859351 Emily Stephen

This actually makes sense. What stunk from within the campaign was the candidate.

The RNC and DNC take orders from the CFR.

The RNC plays ball and actually wants Obama to win because they take in more money from suckers when their party is not in the WH.

I think the “A bomb” was really the “Racist” bomb. Of course nothing in the Ron Paul newsletters was racists, but it takes a lot of time and energy to put things into context and define terms, hence a national smear campaign was a real threat to Ron Paul and the Liberty movement. Already the Left spins everything conservatives do and say as racists, and the RP newsletters gave them that ammo. Even Sean Hanity did the lefts dirty work, smearing and repeating questions as if there is no answer. Hanity did this for 3 hours on his radio show. Other radio talk show hosts working for Clear Channel also went out there smearing. I think that was the “A Bomb” that Romney had. This quote from the 1992
issue of the Ron Paul Political Report was said over and over as if it was a racist statement which of course it is not: “If you have ever been
robbed by a black teenaged male, you know how unbelievably fleet of foot they
can be.” When a reporter called and asked Ron Paul to explain that sentence Ron said… “If you try to
catch someone that has stolen a purse from you, there is no chance to catch
them,”. That really does not help those who are today’s super sensitive politically correct who have actually never heard a real racist sentence. So one must educate them by asking is this sentence racist?, “Have you ever be chased by a white middle aged cop, you know after 100 yards you are home free.” In both cases these are just normal generalities. So what is Racist? And that is a question that would require going up against the last 20 years of political correctness. Ron Paul newsletter fought that fight in the 1980s-90′s but gave up once the whole nation went PC. But it is still good to know that real racism is using one’s ethnic particularities as an excuse for political subjection. Hence, had RP newsletter said something like this (which it did not say) “Black teenagers are very fast criminals and there should be a law against them running” — that would be a racist. Racism takes an ethnic generality, true or untrue, and then comes out for legal discrimination. That is a LONG and TOUGH educational sell to do in a Presidential campaign. Ron Paul already had the legalization of ALL drugs to talk about and other mind bending things. People could hardly get their minds around ending drug prohibition let alone a NON-PC view on what is racists and what is not. Moreover, the real attack was coming from The New Republic Magazine which had compiled a list of 33 out of context sentences. TNR was a liberal rag that has always been PC before PC swept the nation. The long running battle that TNR had with the RP Newsletter was one where the TNR screamed “racist”, “homophobic” and “antisemitic”. Then the RP newsletter was left the lonely job of attacking Political Correctness and its vague assumptions and bad generalities and horrible definitions. Yet Political Correctness prevailed by the early 1990s. It is here with us today. And it is why everyone who means well feels as if they are walking on egg shells when it comes to race. And that is right were the liberals want it, super vague and not defined well. They get to say what racism is, homophobia, and antisemitism is. End of discussion.

“it takes a lot of time and energy to put things into context and define terms” – That’s true. Even at the beginning of the campaign and debates, when the race was more heated, the media were doing this on behalf of Romney and attacking RP. I remember meeting a few people on the street at that time and, when talking about RP, the first thing they would ask was about the newsletters. Countering that would have taken too much resources from the campaign that they didn’t have, and it would have damaged the campaign bringing in new people, so that was the decision made (I guess).

Maybe it was the right choice and that’s why we ended up in a strong position to a point, where the RNC had to cheat and damage themselves as a result. Maybe it was the wrong choice, and it would have had an opposite effect giving the campaign more coverage. But, we’ll never know. Everything happens for a reason.

Benton loves Romney money! He is a traitor!

I think the real problem is an uneducated or lazy constituency. If Ron Paul would of had the votes, he would of won the nomination. I am a RP supporter. He made a great run but didn’t have *all* the support he needed.

Don’t just stay at home at the election. Vote for Gary Johnson so the Libertarian Party makes some advances. We really need to promote a third party at this point: http://www.facebook.com/ronpaulsupportersforgaryjohnson2012

People will have to earn our vote????? I think its the other way around!

  • David Lango

I think it’s a context of “People will have to earn our vote” as in…
If they don’t defend personal liberty, or are in favor of bombing Iran next, or think the FED can borrow us into prosperity; type of “earning” a vote. The only “people” who want to earn votes are “candidates”. And if you people” that run for office don’t stand for a noninterventionist foreign policy then I’m not voting for you, and you can’t steal my vote, you have yet to to “earn it”.

  • Philip

Doug Wead is excellent. I wish the campaign had featured people like him more prominently…and people like the interviewer less prominently! The focus on college campuses and 20-something enthusiasts – and, worse, talking about a revolution – did not endear Dr Paul’s message to the average voter. The liberty movement should learn from this and move forward….after all, we still have the trump card of the most popular combination of political positions!

I don’t agree with the last minute new rule, but how can rp supporters not support the winner of the primary that they chose to participate in and then get angry that the convention views them as dissenters?

So you delete any and all dissenting comments? I thought ron paul was pro free speech, can’t you stomach both sides of the argument? All you’re doing by this is a disservice to your viewers and the ron paul name.
