    Ron Paul’s message is so true, he’s a genuine, sincere person and I hope he’ll be our President. We can’t be scared and live in fear all the time in life. Things happen as they always have throughout history. More policing is not what we want, it’s the last thing we want.
    Still, I just wonder why an alarm didn’t go off on that theater exit door when it was opened? why didn’t the theater have any video of their own and no security at a midnight premier of a violent movie especially.

      The following isn’t meant to be combative. If it comes off that way I apologize.

      I’m sure it wasn’t a fire exit door. Many theaters have exit doors by the movie screen that open for easy access to parking lots. Holmes propped this door open from the inside and came back from the parking lot. I’m sure these doors will be rethought as they’ve been exposed as a huge security risk.

      Why would theaters put video cameras in a large dimly lit room? Out in the lobby I could understand the use of cameras. But in the auditorium, not so much.

      And security at a midnight premiere of a violent movie? Why only the midnight premiere? Why not every showing of a violent movie? I think it’s noted that police responded within 90 seconds. But now we need more security?

      What would this extra security be? One extra worker? A bouncer? These wouldn’t help much so then we must need an armed guard? Is that enough? Maybe, two armed guards? Should we plan for enough security for every conceivable crime?

      Now that we’re thinking of every conceivable crime, why only the theaters? I suppose this extra security should be everywhere and not just the theaters. Malls, grocery stores, gas stations, bus stations, the popular pizza place or diner down at the corner. Many crimes happen in the home. Maybe we should put government cameras and added security in every home.

      You say more policing is not what we want, yet you wonder why there aren’t more alarms, cameras, and security?

      We need to be more responsible for our own safety. We need to be vigilant and aware of our surroundings all the time. We’re not children and we shouldn’t be treated as such.

      I would vote for Ron Paul and did in our primary in June. Why aren’t the voters show the numbers for Ron Paul so we can be encouraged. I will have to vote for Romney in Nov if he is our only option. Can’t take the chance that Obama will win like Clinton did when Perot ran.

    You can keep your guns. I am registered Republican and I don’t believe a movie theater is the place for an assault rifle, with a 100 round clip, 2 hand guns, and 1 shot gun. The theater only had families, friends and neighbors out to watch a movie, but what they came upon was a very educated individual that planned to kill many, if not all the people in the theater with his 6,000 rounds. He had full body armor, so you as a citizen in the theater with your 38, or 357 or whatever you had no chance against him. You stand up to shot him, you will probably get one round off then he sees you and you are dead, and now he has yet another weapon.
