We Ron Paul people are doing well and better than expected, but this video mis-states the situation in Minnesota as of 4/16/2012, and getting the easily-checked facts wrong makes us look bad. The video should be corrected.

The actual situation: 12 of 40 Minnesota delegates have been selected to date. 10 for Paul , 2 for Santorum, 0 for anyone else. These come from 4 Congressional districts which get 3 delegates each.

An additional 12 delegates will be selected this coming weekend, 3 delegates from each from the 4 remaining Congressional Districts.

13 at-large state delegates will be selected at the State Convention May 18-19.

A final 3 delegates will be party leaders who will attend the convention as unpledged delegates by virtue of their position.

OK, contrary to your statement, these things are NOT easily fact checked or there would not be the rampant confusion there is. So instead of criticizing my efforts, how about HELPING me! Israel – Netanyahu’s quote ARE out of context, but not in the way you think. Netanyahu begs for American assistance. His quote said that he doesn’t need troops to defend Israeli territory. But he would LOVE american troops to bomb Iran for him, that’s for sure.

Ron Paul won 9 of 9 delegates at 3 of last weeks MN congressional district conventions. However, MN has 8 districts and only 5 have held conventions so far with the total of 10 for Ron Paul and 5 for Rick Santorum. I believe the other 3 MN district conventions are this weekend with nine more delegates up for grabs. Finally, the State Convention is coming in May and will elect 10 delegates. MN has 3 super-delegates (I believe one is a Ron Paul and one is for newt) and 3 other delegates that i haven’t a clue how they are elected.

This is disappointing. It is one thing to say Israel is a sovereign nation, but it’s quite another to say that it therefore follows that it may violate international law as it pleases, as is here being argued. Israel’s bombing of Iraq’s Osirak reactor, which was under the monitoring regime of the IAEA, was an illegal act of aggression. No nation has “right” to wage aggressive war, as disturbingly propagated in this video. As for Jerusalem, Ron Paul is wrong in his position on that, as well, and we should not be propagating this wrong view. Israel considers ALL of Jerusalem to be its capital. The trouble with that is under international law, East Jerusalem is “occupied Palestinian territory” and Israel’s annexation “illegal, null, and void”. UN Security Resolution 478 forbids member states from establishing embassies in Jerusalem for this reason. Under Article VI of the US Constitution, “This Constitution … and all Treaties made … shall be the Supreme Law of the Land”. The US is a signatory of the UN Charter and is bound to abide by UN resolutions that have the force of law.

I love Ron Paul. I voted for him in ’08 and in Michigan’s primary two months ago. I will vote for him in November. But he is wrong on this issue for reasons I presume have to do with a lack of knowledge and understanding of the nature of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. What he said is prejudicial towards the rights of the Palestinians. I’m sure he didn’t intend this, but it is, and we who support him should inform him of the reality of the situation regarding Israel’s illegal occupation and annexation rather than getting on board with what is in fact a support and defense of lawlessness. This is NOT what Ron Paul stands for and I feel confident that if he were more familiar with the issue he would not have said something so prejudicial to the rights of the Palestinians.

Ron Paul is NOT Pro-Israel… He is completely non-interventionist. He doesn’t think we should be condemning other countries actions, and that we should just mind our own business. As far as the Jerusalem thing, he doesn’t think we should get involved, and if Israel claims that as their capital he doesn’t want to get in the middle of the conflict. In reality, Ron Paul disagrees with a lot if Israels actions, he just doesn’t think its Americas place to get involved.. and that would include stopping foreign aid to all countries.
