As a Marine Corps veteran, I share this soldier’s enthusiasm for Ron Paul’s campaign and appreciate his willingness to go out and support Dr. Paul. However, openly speaking on politics (for instance, publicly endorsing a candidate) in uniform is a serious violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He should know better. Oh well… leave it to the Army to screw up, right? haha. Here’s to even greater success for the campaign in the near future! Can’t wait to see Dr. Paul as the next Commander in Chief!

Paying attention

As a Marine corp Veteran you should know then not to speak until you have all the facts. Have you confirmed that the soldier is in the Guard or Reserve and currently on active duty or not? That information has yet to come out, and your criticism of it is a bit premature, and even if it does come out later- you blew your wad a bit early. Now soldier- DIS-MISSED, FALLOUT.

That he was active duty or reserve is irrelevant. I have all the facts. Appearing in uniform in support of a particular party or candidate is a serious matter and applies to all military personnel. I hope his chain of command takes it easy on him, but the military (as an institution) must be seen as politically impartial. It is a principle that is vital to any republic. And please… never call a Marine a “soldier”… it’s a little degrading

Don’t dis the army. My husband is an army veteran with 41 yrs of combined active/reserve duty. My son is a Green Beret. I agree with you about the UCMJ, but no need to disparage an entire group. There are many screw-ups in ALL the uniformed services, including your Marines. The good ones outshine the screw-ups by miles.

True and if you listen to the media Ron Paul wants to legalize drugs (heroine/cocaine) they always make sure to mention what kind of drugs too. Funny how obvious they are to us who are awake and don’t listen to their lies! No Way ….. i’m Indian … and although throughtout the History of the U.S. and thoughout our history as well good people have always ended up like what u describe … i do sincerely believe that the US as well as the rest of the world is craving for some1 like Dr. Paul. I think he may have been overwhelmed by the fact that he was actually speaking at the HQ and got to meet Paul. I would forget my main point too! It doesn’t matter though, people will now take a closer look and research the foreign policy because of this.

It appears that Ron Paul won 7 delegates in Iowa therefore that ties him in 1st (not third) in what really matters in a primary DELEGATES. Main Stream Media working the black Magic AGAIN!
The MSM is so effective at mind swaying that they have the mentally weak (most afflicted with severe propaganda cancer) citizens spreading the half-truth for them! It sounds like everyone in the dark actually believes that Ron Paul came in third. AND people are constantly being told he is a Libertarian when he has run as a republican for 20 years and ran for President one time on a Libertarian ticket since the Republican establishment chose differently that year.

This soldier will probally be put out for what he did. He only violated about 5 different codes in the UCMJ along with the Hatch Act. No soldier can speak at a ralley for a politician while in uniform. Ron Paul as a senator knows this and should have informed him of this instead of using this soldier this way. Many Americans may not know that soldiers are not allowed to spek like this in Public. I know they remember Forest Gump and when they pulled the cables when he was speaking. Its not allowed. CNN tried to save this soldier by cutting him off, Ron Paul had no reguard for him and even encouraged him to break the law. Is this the leader you want ? One who violates the rule of law to get elected.

They allow the RP movement because it serves them. They will never allow him to change anything – they would instantly kill him if this were a possibility. But as long as the movement continues, there is a demographic that will continue to hope that the system can be changed from within and so will refrain from things like open rebellion or assassination of political figures. It provides them security to be able to channel your aggressions. Its a suckers game. The intelligence network that runs the world is so incredibly vast that there is nothing whatsoever one man can do. And the true enemy, in fact, are the sheeple. The millions upon millions of ignorant rule followers and believers in the status quot.
