We cannot trust Iran to behave as we would LIKE them to.  We need a Strong Position and if necessary a very strong response.  Iran with a Nuke only means dead AMERICANS.  The United States is currently the Power on the Globe and the rest of the world should be glad it is us and not… THEM

Indeed.  Dee doesnt realize that ron paul supporters for the most part would talk him into reason. They would care that he be presented information that could change his mind…  Where as his own friends like Mitt wouldn’t even give him the chance to say his peace before they went to war with him and cut him down. Run with the big dogs that look out for number one and youll find out that youre not even close to the top of their list.

      “When
the only way you can “defend yourself” against another country’s
“threat” is to go to the other side of the world to fight it, because it
lacks the logistical capability to project military force more than a
few hundred miles outside its own borders — and the main “threat” is its
ability to fight back when you attack it — you know something’s pretty
      messed up.”
      – Kevin Carson, antiwar.com

respectfully, we already have a strong response to Iran – we have tough sanctions that are making life very tough for the people and it’s only making things more intense and worse. Iran has made several efforts to talk and resolve our differences, and the Obama administration refuses to talk to them. Iran is not powerful enough to hurt anyone, their leaders are just playing tough to save face. They pose no real threat and all international news sources know this, but not us. We only hear what we are supposed to hear. Remember Iraq? Who would have supported that war if we had known that there was no WMD? Likewise no one would support Iran if they knew that they’ve got no real military power and no nukes!

In honor of Dr. King, today I give you this quote,
“And don’t let anybody make you think that God chose America as his divine, messianic force to be a sort of policeman of the whole world. God has a way of standing before the nations with judgment, and it seems that I can hear God saying to America, “You’re too arrogant! And if you don’t change your ways, I will rise up and break the backbone of your power, and I’ll place it in the hands of a nation that doesn’t even know my name. Be still and know that I’m God.”

And also a few quotes by our Founding Fathers,
“Any people that would give up liberty for a little temporary safety deserves neither liberty nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin

“Can the liberties of a nation be sure when we remove their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people, that these liberties are a gift from God?  Thomas Jefferson

The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government.”Patrick Henry”Government is not reason; it is not eloquence. It is force. And force, like fire, is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”  George Washington

Even if they developed a nuke today it would never reach US soil from Iran, so your view is quite flawed there. It wouldn’t mean the death of Americans at all! Now going over there and starting a war would CERTAINLY cause the death of Americans on a much larger scale.

You don’t have to fire a ballistic missile in order to detonate a nuclear weapon.  You could walk a nuclear bomb right across the U.S./Mexico border and detonate it in any city you wanted and it would be extremely easy.

I would love to see you WALK a nuclear weapon anywhere! LOL. Even IF Iran (that can’t even refine it’s own gas) could somehow invent a nuclear bomb small enough to carry across the Mexican border, how exactly would they smuggle it out of their own country when we are watching them 24/7?

dee: I would turn that argument right around. The world cannot trust Americans to appraise their countries without severe hubris and to not make up an excuse to go to war as America did to spark the Vietnam war with the Gulf of Tonkin incident.
The establishment and their media lackeys are essentially on the payroll of international finance and the military industrial complex with their legions of contractors. To take their word for anything considering their foreign policy history is an exercise in dismissing critical thought before making such rash decisions.

If you look at modern war at its core, it is a profiteering racket and nothing more. Since the atomic bomb, war has essentially become obsolete and comparable to fistycuffs. Nothing gets accomplished other than production and consumption of lives and military hardware.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jtonnesen R Michael Tonnesen

I respect your point. Based on the mainstream media war hype it easy to agree…the problem is that we have been lied to over and over and we are being manipulated by globalists within our government who are promoting this insane foreign policy which is designed to keep us in fear and bankrupt our country. Iran will never destroy America. If our country goes down, it will be because we let our own corrupt government tear up our constitution while we are distracted by this trumped up fear of Iran.

    • http://twitter.com/Praxisseizure Get out the info

dee: Also, American propagandists try to make everyone believe or fear America with their global power nonsense. America does not dominate the world. A marriage of corporate and international power with Washington’s help might dominate the world but that power is not in the hands of Americans by any stretch.

Americans, the people, would do better to see the world not as their adversaries, but as simply part of the global community of nations competing for trade and status in the eyes of all nations.

There is no reason for any hegemonic force to exist in the world anymore. Self defense is anything but hegemonic and is a necessary protection against insanity. To assume dominance over the world in any matter of force, economics, religion, coalition is truly folly, lacking any respect and is emblematic of a society without decency, deluded into thinking they are somehow superior.

  • InTheKnow

Israel and the US both have enough nukes pointed at Iran to blow them to dust in 39 seconds of pushing a button. That wouldn’t complete their objective, so they are not going to pick a fight with one of the biggest bullies with “some nuclear weapons”. We can have a strong position from our own country and stop invading others with false reasons and then just say, “Well they are better off with democracy”. Are we? Look at the shape we are in. These wars are why we are where we are financially. Only defense contractorsm makers of body scanners and Haliburton won these, “wars on terror.” Read quotes from our forefathers and learn that if we are willing to give up our freedoms for security, than we don’t deserve security. Iraq wasn’t going to attack us and neither is Iran. Our govt wants to justify another war to benefit the people who put them in office and smokescreen all of the money that they gave away that wasn’t theirs to give to Wall Street, The Federal Reserve and the banking system. You keep defending all these false wars, having NDAA to watch over you and paying through your teeth by voting for Obama again or Romney, who is going to do to this country what he did to many businesses… gut them for his and other investors’ wealth. If we don’t wake up and listen to the people all over the world, as well as our own countrymen, we will continue to die a slow, painful death of enslavement.

Good comment all these overseas military bases take money out of the US economy. Sth Korea, German,Japan & England are rich they should pay for their own defense. The US is stationing 2500 Marines in Australia (their welcome here) However we are a wealthy country & unlike American’s we enjoy Univeral Health Care, Free Public Hospitals a generous & compassionate Social Security System that Americans would kill for (your system is hard in comparison to Western Europe,Oz, NZ). We may soon have Free Dental Care to. Why should we  or any other wealthy country expect US taxpayer’s to pick up the tab for our security when 46 million American’s receive Food Stamps & have no health care? I am not bagging our American friends it just seems stupid they you give other countries a “free ride” on defense

The fool says in his heart,“There is no God.”
      They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
there is no one who does good

      Will the evildoers never learn—
those who devour my people as men eat bread
And who do not call on God?
There they were, overwhelmed with dread,
where there was nothing to dread.
      God scattered the bones of those who attacked you;
you put them to shame, for God despised them

      Evil will slay the wicked;
the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
      The Lord redeems his servants;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him

The reason the military is going into these countries is because of the oil.  The goal of oil companies and globalists is to control 100% of the oil.  If those countries got to keep complete control of THEIR oil (it is not ours) then they could lower the prices and compete. The oil companies plan on controlling all oil and then open up 4 fields in the U.S.A., one off the coast up in Alaska, which last Summer they hauled a rig up there.  The media you know is bias and they decide what the want the masses to know.  They also want to make the dollar “dead” but not gone.  This would make this land 3rd world.  With control of all the oil they want to get prices upward of 200 a barrel and leave it there.  That would translate into about 7.00 dollars a gallon with a stable economic system.

If the oil companies allow them to control their own oil, then we have a “free market” economy.  They would compete for the business and lower their prices and the greedy oil companies are not practicing capitalism or the free market in this.  They are doing socialistic Kenisan (sp) economics.  You can learn about it at the mieses.org web site.  The economy is in a historical context and this is what Dr. Ron Paul understands very well.

He wants what is good for us the people.  The socialist controlled government leaders will lie and tell you you are free and can do what you want but look at their attack on the only one bringing that true message.  Study how economies work.  If the gov just prints up money and issues credit where there is no money, it devalues your and my purchase power and prices also go up.  So inflation plus higher prices are what the few greedy money mongers like Mitt are privy to.  You vote for him and he gets elected, you ain’t seen nothing yet.  Just plan on serfdom and poverty, riots and all the goody thing the socialist WANT.  This would justify their sending in foreign troop to stop us uprising trying to take our land and government back, just like they want to do with Iran and have done with many other nations.

If we have a strong national defense instead of a global militaristic occupation, spread thin with no money to sustain it, then we can keep China, Russia and even Iran from harming us with high tech defenses.  I just don’t get why so many people are afraid of that country other than them being programed by the brainwashing of the media.

Use your minds and look beyond what the TV says is reality.  There is much more to life.

    • Peterjheins

You are exactly right and it makes me sick!  We need to take back our country from this old, out-dated, and stupid world-view.

I wish some of you would stop with the “socialist controlled government” line.  This is the line of the mainstream Republicans.  Please stop being so ignorant.  There are many socialists who support Ron Paul.  Obama is NOT a socialist, he is a liberal.  He believes that a central government in league with the ruling elite should manage everyone’s lives.  Socialists (not the imagined socialist boogie-men that many of you have in your head) are in favor of a society where society is run by the voice of people, not corporations or rulers.  This is not so different from Libertarianism.  I mean, check it out, Noam Chomsky, whom many of you might consider to be an arch-evil commie or whatever, he’s actually an admitted socialist-libertarian.  There are many of us socialist-libertarians.  We have much in common with Ron Paul, though some differences.  The differences are minor, however, in that we both realize to save the people of the US, there needs to be an end to wars, corporate control, a flawed judicial system, and the media lies and disinformation that attempt to play on people and disrupt our ability to work together as equals.

    South Carolina: Booooooo!!!!!

I thought South Carolina was a “heavily evangelical state”.

    • Anonymous

Evangelicalism is a religion, it doesn’t mean they follow Jesus nor His teachings. Just their version of them.

    • Peterjheins

Yeah, that was ridiculous.  I believe that reveals one of the biggest problems with the Republican party.

    • Mee2

Here is what I say to my Evangelical friends,  ”What if Christian’s applied this to the people we vote for? If you look at all of the people running, out of all of them, Ron Paul is the only one that meets the requirements. All of the others, are quarrelsome (wanting to start more wars for literally no good reason), been adulterous, or are known liars (flip-flopper’s). We should vote based on God’s wisdom (Didn’t he say to love our neighbors and be at peace with them?) And not just vote for the people that are supposedly, “electable.” If we want a moral and upright government, we have to elect moral and upright people.”

Then I note that in the church we have requirements that can be found in 1 Timothy. Here is a link that sums it all up http://pilgrimboy.hubpages.com/hub/The-Biblical-Requirements-of-Elders

This is a comment from another site that was interesting:

This is South Carolina, and a lot of them just plain love
war.  War is seen as a romantic adventure to spice up their otherwise
fairly boring lives.  When momma sends little Jethro off to war, and she
gets a folded flag back, she sits at the funeral, sheds some tears and
feels the deep inner joy of finally having done something interesting.
In her tragedy she becomes a “person of interest”.
When Jethro goes off to kill muslims, he’s fighting the holy war for
Jesus, flag and country.  If he goes off to kill Bosnians or Africans or
Vietnamese or Germans or whoever …  It doesn’t matter.  It’s the same
      holy war.
Of course they boo the golden rule.  They don’t believe in it.  Not
for a second.  They come from a long line of Scots Irish who fought the
British for centuries, losing sons and fathers routinely, and the
romanticism of loss is a fair price for glory they figure.  They will
fight you at the drop of a hat, and if you won’t drop it, they will.
Theirs is a fierce God of War, and they are more than willing to lay
down sons at the altar of that God, and hell on you if you try to stop
      them.
You can throw them in the direst poverty under the heel of the most
tyrannical government and you won’t hear a peep of protest, so long as
you give them an opportunity to visit death and slaughter on some
“other” now and again.  This is South Carolina, and people here like to
      kick ass.

      • Kolt-c-larmet

South Carolinians are some of the friendliest, peace-loving rednecks you can know! And what’s this about the Scots-Irish fighting the British for centuries? What do you mean? The protestant so-called Scotch-Irish were descended from peoples from Scotland and England and Wales, and planted in Ireland before the birth of the USA, to the dismay of the real Catholic Irish, who were the ones actually fighting against British rule in Ireland. Ironically, the people who feel more British than anyone today are the “Scots-Irish” protestants from Northern Ireland

Wevez – I agree. His delivery was off tonight, but his message is strong as every. Like it or not, RP’s got a very active mind and when he speaks it, he sometimes rambles on. He even publicly acknowledges its his weakness. If you’re looking for someone that can read a TelePrompTer then that’s Mitt Romney. But as far as Ron Paul goes, you not only have to overlook his poor delivery, but (painfully) also the reactions from others who are only looking at his delivery and ignoring the thoughtfulness of his content.

I think Ron Paul is showing a lot of nerve by answering hostile questions, but he was really rambling tonight. I wondered having not watched the whole debate why after all this time is he so shaky in his voice, a little fumbling. I think it is because he is an ordinary humble man who is trying to save our country before it’s too late. He knows they ( the other candidates with banker and Neocon backing) are going to crash the dollar and go to war with Iran, and the American people will suffer with more inflation, and NDAA detention when they complain about policies. The wages will not be raised and jobs not be recovered with the biggest banker loans going to the Chinese manufacturers, no matter that they have to erect netting around their buildings to catch workers who jump off to kill themselves because they aren’t getting paid for months at a time. We are headed for a global meltdown and will end up like Greece and others, handing over the reins to the bankers to run things in exchange for their loans. Go Ron Paul, we are behind you. Dont let them shake you up.

    • Alex

I agree, this was definitely not one of his most impressive debates.  He has the right message, but he needs to work on polishing his delivery, especially in hostile environments.  It’s obvious in this carefully edited highlights video, and even more painfully obvious when seen in full context.  All the other guys know the tactics to rattle up the crowd and will say whatever they think will get an applause.  As much as I hate to say it, perhaps Dr Paul should pay a little attention to Luntz if he wants to make things go smoother.

      • jpowwwww

I think he comes off that way because he has so much to get out. You can see the wheels spinning. You never know when they will let him speak next.

  • Peterjheins

The crowd actually booed him for saying, “we need to use the golden rule in foreign policy,” and most of the state of South Carolina Republicans claim to be Christian?  Do they even know that he was quoting one of the most important tenants of the bible?

    • Kent Perry, Az.

they were all being texted to boo him.  He ought to take more risks and get people really behind him. There are millions out there just dying to hear him say he would go after Obama for that pathetic forgery he calls a Birth Certificate and all the Cops using the NDAA now to get people to talk or give up there rights or else they will simply invoke NDAA and that scares the hell out of people so they incriminate themselves.  He ought to admit the truth about Osama Bin Laden and the way the SEAL teams really operate and tell everyone about SEAL team six being nothing but a fake for propaganda purposes.  The same team allegedly all killed in a helicopter incident and later are all alive again to kill anwar aliwaki using a drone.  They were criticized for giving out their location the first time that got em all killed but gave it away a second time saying they were in Yemen.  The whole thing is BULLSHIT.

Fact is they could have taken Bin Laden alive going by the testimony.  That would have been an invaluable source of information about al-qaeda but they kill him instead?  Naaah No way.   Then reporting they got his hard drive?  Yeah way to tell the enemy to change all their plans if anything they had planned was on that hard drive.

The Jews (Israel) have done a lot to attack him also so I see no reason not to bring up other false flag events they have been involved in such as the USS Liberty.  I’d like to see them squirm out of that one.

      Bottom line:

Ron Paul needs to get serious and Knock the cobwebs out of these peoples heads saying some shockingly true facts and when he gets booed, he out to confront that head on I mean seriously, who would boo him on a statement given before he is done which seems to suggest they are all in favor of a foreign of bombing the crap out of everyone.  I would have asked them booing ” You mean YOU WANT US to attack everyone these people say are bad?”  I guess they should  have the war with China and Russia they are begging for because THAT is where they would end up and all of us would end up

If Iran has a weapon, they would ONLY use it if their future appeared doomed, because if they did use it in an act of war, Iran would be doomed anyway – and they know it. But if Iran doesn’t have a weapon their future appears doomed anyway, starting with crippling sanctions on the Iranian people making being healthy and happy impossible. If I was the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah, I would ask Ahmadinejad to resign (token to the west) and announce to the world that an open inspection of their nuclear program can be made.

Iran are portrayed in the media as prodding the West and it’s very misleading and disturbing

    1) By announcing Iran has enriched their own uranium for nuclear energy. That’s true, but what they don’t report is that they have reached the capability to enrich it’s uranium 2-3% for power generation

    2) Months later, the media announce that Iran are close to 20% enrichment of it’s uranium and they are closer to a nuclear weapon. Not true, 20% enrichment is required for nuclear medicine (CT scans etc,) which Iran desperately needs while under crippling sanctions from the West – Including nuclear medicine equipment and supplies. The fact is to enrich from 2-3% to 20% is quite a step up in technology and quite an accomplishment in such a short time. But to develop a nuclear weapon uranium has to be enriched to 90% – This is a massive step, very expensive and very risky. Iran don’t want to waste their money on this technology.

    3) The media are reporting Iranian navy speed boats harassing US Navy ships in the Straights of Hormuz – reports of tormenting the US Navy. What else is Iran supposed to do except have a bit of a show of strength (if you can call it that)? They have the West are breathing down their neck, threatening air strikes, violating their airspace with drones, occupying their seas with Navy ships, killing their scientists, imposing economic sanctions and threatening financial sanctions

This is all so bogus it makes me want to puke. I don’t think there is any hope for peace unless Dr. Paul gets the nomination

Actually you have already fallen partially victim to media manipulation, Iran has already had such an inspection of it’s nuclear facilities by the IAEA as well as being a part of the non-nuclear proliferation treaty. Its after such exhaustive investigations by the IAEA that a compromise was made were spent nuclear rods from the energy/electricity producing reactors are taken  Russia to be disposed of and reprocessed this would make it virtually impossible for Iran to be able to obtain any nuclear bomb grade plutonium, since

      1) The wouldn’t have the facilities for it
      2) They wouldn’t have the raw materials for it as well
      3) The entire supply chain would be monitored so no nuclear material would disappear
      5) All other countries refused to help Iran with its nuclear power plants except Russia and China which saw a good business opportunity to further strengthen their economies, this activity is monitored and sanctioned by IAEA (they like any other sovereign country are allowed to develop alternative power sources)

Besides Iran realizes that depending on an Oil based economy (given that their natural reserves will run out in about 30 years) for energy is not a long term solution for a country which has no other major means of income, so they would like to stretch their reserves as long as possible, so they can benefit as well.
I can give you an example Norway puts all the revenue from its oil resources into a sovereign wealth fund that it uses for  future investments, Libya had something like this as well, Saudi Arabia is seeking to diversify to use nuclear power to reduce on its dependence on Oil.
This is a logical decision for Iran .

Dennis – my question is, what does Iran want Nuclear power for it he first place??

Iran has deep oil reserves, does it not? More than enough energy for its country, let alone in exports for other countries. IMHO it seems incredibly suspicious that they should want anything to do with nuclear power. That said, is it not apparent that Iran is seeking the bomb?

        • Anonymous

Are you serious? THEY ARE ENTITLED to it. For starters. Then there’s the fact that Iran can not distill enough of their own oil. They sell crude and buy back gasoline! It’s also a dirty fuel. Sorry but your post just makes no sense at all. ANWR Province has the largest oil reserves in the world – why don’t we just tap that and stop stealing the Arab’s oil?

          • Anonymous

rpflix – Are you suggesting that it’s more economical for Iran to build a nuclear power plant than to build oil refineries?  Considering that Israel would likely blow it up like they did Iraq’s 30 years ago, why would Iran risk invasion, especially when Washington is beating its war drums over the issue?

Regarding the “dirty fuel” comment, it’s not like Iran is leading the charge against Global Warming.  They’re not exactly a bunch of Hipsters from Santa Monica.

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_P476YZNFDDCFJR35QE4K56U2VU Dennis M S

If you read my post and the links you will see that Iran is not the only oil rich country trying to get nuclear power as an alternative power source, this is mainly because oil reserves are running out and if they don’t have any other viable power source in 3 decades they will be economically disadvantaged.

          • Anonymous

Dennis – your source material indicates that Saudi Arabia is considering a nuclear arms race with Iran, and they state their reason as being that Iran is not complying with the IAEA requirement that Iran shall not pursue nuclear weapons technology. Where did you get your estimate that Iran only has 30 years oil left? At 2006 production levels, they have 90 years remaining. If they use that oil for their own country’s electricity/power rather than exporting it all, they’d probably have 300 years of energy self-reliance, as Fox News (whom you cited) loves to tout.

I’m not even going to get into the issue as to whether Iran is ENTITLED OR NOT to a nuclear weapon. Personally even the idea of that scenario makes me cringe, seeing as how this is not France we’re talking about. This is a theocratic dictatorship that chants “Death to America” as a state-sanctioned mantra. They don’t chant “God Save us From America”, they say “Death To America”. Recall that just about a month ago Iran attempted to hire Mexican gangsters to kill the Saudi Ambassador in a restaurant where there would have been US congressmen, and knowing that they issued the order to blow the place up along with the congressmen.

As far as I can make of this, there is NO PLAUSIBLE reason that Iran would want a nuclear weapon for defensive purposes. However, if I CAN conceive of a small group of religious extremists running a little dictatorship willing to bring everyone down upon the “word of god” rants of a few lunatics. Jonestown anyone?

I know that you are taking Ron Paul’s message of “respecting the sovereignty of other nations” to the bank, but even Dr. Paul stated flat out that he does not want Iran to gain a Weapon. In fact he seems to suggest that Iran would face preemptive attack by Israel were it to develop that weapon.

I am not convinced at all that Iran is using their Nuclear program peacefully. If they comply with the IAEA rules, then yes as bizarre as it sounds for an oil rich nation to have nuclear power, at least it wouldn’t be an active threat. But the reality is, Iran is stupidly going down the same route that Iraq went in the 90′s.

          • Alex

This may be difficult to understand, but the US attacking Iran is exactly what the Iranian government wants.  The Iranian people are divided and most of them don’t support their government.  Most of them like the US, but they are also patriots and everyone – not just radicals – will fight back if the US attacks them (even Christians and Jews that live there would).   It would be an endless war far worse than Iraq, and would only further radicalize the middle east, and lead to the complete economic collapse of the west. The backlash of which would be used as an excuse to strip any last drip of freedom we still have and enjoy in this country.  The only reason the US is worried about Iran getting a nuke is not for fear that they will use it to blow up Irsael, but because then we’d have to treat them with more respect and actually use diplomacy.  This is my opinion, feel free to disagree.

        • guest

Why shouldn’t they seek a bomb?  With the f*cknuts in control of The Empire salivating for their oil it stands to reason that perhaps the Iranians would sleep a bit more soundly knowing that they have at least one bargaining chip.

Ron understands that you cannot really give one minute answers, what I call bumper sticker responses to complex questions, but it appears he is rambling when he tries to get too much in.  I would attack the questioners for purposely taking things out of context and misrepresenting what he has advocated and said, and then try to be more cogent even if it entails saying that the issue can’t be properly outlined in a one minute response.

    • Anonymous

Dante – agreed. I’m torn as to how to feel about it. I mean Ron Paul could be a dick like Gingrich and tell the moderators to shove it. Ormhencould spend too much time yet thoughtfully respond. I prefer the later, as much as it pains me. Fortunately he’s not always this off, and every time they “zing” him on an issue he tends to get stronger and more concise answering it the next time around. Hopefully Doug Wead and Tom Woods will be articulating better responses soon that he can use later.

After watching this live I thought the performance was mediocre. But after being able to focus and listen carefully to the answers in this clip a 2nd time, I was very pleased with the answers and applause. I think that SC learned quite a bit from Dr. Paul this evening.  I loved the silence after his discussion with Juan about the importance of dealing with the Drug War.  All I heard was people thinking. : ).  Thank you rpflix for this excellent service you provide.

Jeremy Brock – Agreed. Focusing only on RP’s responses, I also found them to be exactly the type of medicine we needed to hear. I was shocked at the South Carolina crowd loudly boo’ing “the golden rule”. Don’t they read scripture in their churches anymore? They might want to brush up on Jesus’ teachings and STAY AWAKE during their Sunday school classes. News media should have been all over that one, what a great “values” piece to report on.

Another thing I noticed, is that if you perform the same focus with everyone else’s responses, they sound canned and patronizing. Gingrich especially.

  • Iconicfreedom

The letter of Marque and Reprisal is the proper way to go after a single or group of enemies. The problem is the American people don’t know what it is.You don’t go to war with a country just to get a small group of people, that’s just stupid. You put a bounty on them and send a special force to hunt them down. That is what Paul was trying to say.

I really liked his response to Perry when he explained the difference between the Taliban and Al Qaeda and his time in the USAF during the 60s

A real “FREE PRESS” should be Ron Paul’s first act as President. Criminalize printing false or misleading news. Present the facts and let the citizens decide what to think. No more using to press to set public opinion.

  • Shwank

Mr In TheKnow, I might add that Israel also has a nuke pointed at every major European city.

  • Kfsuperstud

It made me uncomfortable to watch Ron walk into those loaded foreign policy questions posed to make him seem completely irrational. His other answers were superb. Unfortunately, I don’t think the general American people are educated or care enough to ever understand his positions and ideology, and are going to be stifled by his demeanor. I’d suggest he always bring his foreign policy answers back to economic issues where he is the strongest candidate by far, and try to simplify and explain his message a bit more: like the idea of mark and reprisal. The debates are really the only non-MSM filtered view of paul most non-activists will get, so he’s gotta make the most of them.

But that said, why are we all here supporting him today? It is not because we think he’s the most eloquent speaker, but because he speaks the truth. Truth is the only thing that can overcome the human imperfections of his delivery, and so far he’s done one hell of a job.

    • Bob D

I thought Ron did well on the question on the oxymoron kennard of defense spending when it is really perpetual war. And the questioner having to have his question asked and answered twice because he was too stupid to get it the first time. This gave Ron a complete triump and made the questioner look like a perpetual war advocate fool. But Bret did fluster Ron on the Bin Laden question later. Ron was unprepared. And Bret knew it, he gloated. Hey face it stud, Ron Paul proves he is a genius again and again, but he is still only human.

America has to understand……this is where we decide whether we are a despotism/oligarchy or revert/restore ourselves to a true American Republic.

Great line for Ron Paul would be ‘ we shouldn’t be building bases in Afghanistan, we should be building bases on the moon and mars’

  • Glenn Howe68

Slick, the media slanted practically every damn question towards Paul’s foreign policy of non-occupation – the issue Paul will be weakest with in South Carolina.  Not one question about the bank bailouts that most of the other guys supported.
