Dr. Paul I missed your answer to the Palestinian Republican? Care to elaborate and help guide thus voters into the fold of Liberty and your campaign? Better debate moderating but still frustrating when the Dr. isn’t given an opportunity and is too polite to butt into too hard…

His answers were so spot on tonight! After this debate, I can’t see any acceptable reason why Ron Paul is not the front-runner! And that joke about age discrimination was brilliant! Highlight of the debate for me! Haha!

  • Thomas Valliere

Did govt cause housing crisis? Romney : Gingrich should have warned America aka Ron Paul. Gingrich responds to Romney’s attack. Only Ron Paul understands what really happened and how it could have been prevented. Did his best to explain it in 60 seconds. I wish people would do their homework.

  • 1Texangirl

It brought tears to my eyes when you said that its all about telling the American people your going to do something and you do it. If Ron Paul does not win, there are people with huge mental illness out there trying to understand why he could not beat Obama.

This was the first debate I’ve seen (send Wolf Blitzer thank you mails for a fair and balanced debate – FINALLY) where the rules were respected and Ron’s respect for those rules played to his favor.  He was allowed to speak fairly on the issues that will elect him.  Serious kudos to Wolf.

    • Leslie Miller

I agree Wolf deserves kudos and he may define the future direction of all the mainstream media.

  • http://www.facebook.com/nphen Nathan Downing Phenicie

Ron Paul is truly regarded as the front runner by the other candidates. They all work the “Ron Paul” angle into their entire viewpoint now. Only Mitt’s money is keeping him in the lead. Newt can chip away at Mitt’s delegate count, I hope to see Newt’s voters come out for RP in Virginia.

The only thing I didn’t like was RP’s answer about cutting NASA. I expected it, but Space technology has always created light years of economic growth once the private sector gets a hold of the materials and raw science. I guarantee you that a “big but possible” project like a moon base could inspire a generation of children into math, engineering, and science – think of what the Moon Landing did in the 1960′s. Then a treasure-trove of space technology and the confidence that our world-spanning ability inspires around the Earth

    • KTurner

No one denies that “project like a moon base could inspire a generation of children into math, engineering, and science,” it’s just not the role of the federal government and not what our tax dollars are to be used for as dictated by the Constitution.  Can’t adhere to the Constitution in one place and cast it out for your favorite program.

    • http://www.facebook.com/The.Blackbane Michael Pacitto

If there is money in it… a private company can do it. a trillion dollars can do a LOT if used PROPERLY. Inspiring people to get into math can be done much cheaper.

Granted…. Play the game: “Doom 3″ and you may second guess that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1210234227 Brent Link

Having watched the debate I think Mitt did a good job tonight. I give Paul the win because he had more answers to more problems, as always. However, not willing to always be the homer, I give Mitt props on calling out Dr Paul about the space program and corporate disinterest in such ventures. However, what Mitt fails to realize, is under a true free market economy, it would be easier, or less expensive to develop the technologies that would make such ventures more cost effective. Really what strangles space exploration is the amount invested into research and private corps will make this more efficient

  • Gonzo79

I cant believe how fast this was put together… now I want to see one where you can see the other candidates in the background shaking their head saying “yep he has it right”…. I counted at least 7 or 8 times…. maybe like a little pointer arrow showing how they nod when they know hes right ;)

    • Joergfelsch11

Agreed. The other candidates mentioned Ron Pauls name 5,6,7 or maybe even 8 times.
Almost ALWAYS in a positive context. The good doctor is training them

  • Rharbach4

I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems that Newt Romney really sucked up to the Ron Paul supporters in this debate with a more humble foreign policy, and not taking any shots at RP’s positions.

  • RyanOfTheHillpeople

Anyone notice how Romney does this “lean back” stance away from Paul when Paul is speaking?  It’s this sort of “I can’t believe you just said that, how revolting” sort of body language.  Obviously this was something someone coached him so that people watching him pick up on the body language and have a comparable reaction when Paul speaks.  Either way, the house of cards, built from a stacked deck… is collapsing, and Liberty is taking charge again.

  • david

More than ever, this country needs someone who can bring us together. The country is completely divided, there is no question about it. Forget about the specifics for a second and focus! Why are we constantly fighting each other over these petty disputes? The answer to our problems can be found in our constitution because it is based on a simple common principle we all share– Liberty. Liberty is a moral philosophy, that is; the ideology that individual liberty is the basic principle for which society is shaped. That is the same Ideology that brought us together when the United States was created, starting with the Declaration of Independence. (Read the 2nd paragraph of that document VERY carefully). Ron Paul is the only candidate who is talking about protecting Liberty. The common misconception with him is “following the constitution, is like going back in time” or “he thinks the constitution should not be changed”. People, the constitution was created to be amended. But if you understood how it was designed to be done, then you would understand that it is based on the principle of liberty. To amend it, you need a two-thirds of the House and Senate vote AND 75% of the states who affirm the vote. That means, you and I would have to agree to change it. What you have now is politicians swearing an oath to protect and obey the constitution, meanwhile they are wiping their behind with it when they run out of toilet paper! People call Ron Paul a nut job because that’s what the pundits say. Yet, when you ask them to explain they either stay quiet or provide no intellect as to why they feel this way. If Ron Paul’s ideas are radical then so were those of the founding fathers. They devised the constitution based on the fallacies and shortcomings they experienced under theocracies and monarchies. Liberty cannot be “part-time” or selectively enforced. Divided we are nothing, together we are everything.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/William-Schooler/100003032488972 William Schooler

All have different ideas and within these ideas they have other ideas but how many actually investigate the ideas and prefer the act to assume, what is assumption? I know something or I think I know something?

The devision is not being able to see ideas clearly and the only way this is done is to look what each idea has projected as in results. This is the identifier something took place and was decided.

Actually it will not matter if we are divided what will matter is those who are informed strengthen in numbers and show the results of good choice verses all the bad results of no good choice. Good choice secures liberty which allows us to share ideas and bad choice does not, it works to stop others ideas. There are a lot of good ideas coming out in good directions, the force will be those who inform and decide will equal the strength of its numbers and the rise in numbers will create the results of the decision made.

I Have decided on a Republic with Liberty and Justice for all, how about you? This destination I am assured is the correct direction as well the  informed direction should we as idea creators and decision maker investigate and decide knowing this is correct.

Wolf actually went to Paul first several times.  I think this is also the most talking time Ron Paul has gotten in a debate.  We should all thank Wolf for fair moderating.

I think Wolf new the questions were too complicated for the other candidates.

The only question i feel he kind of fumbled on was the one about Carol, he could have really come out with more flowery words to actually express how he feels and mention the fact that she put him through medical school..that would really go down well with the women..I think.

I like Ron Paul, but I think he is a bit confused in his extreme economic liberalism. Regarding government healthcare for instance: my country Norway has one of the best universal health care systems in the world. We happily pay between 20 and 40 % income tax, to provide this service for everyone (plus education and pension). Some might argue that such a system only is viable in a small country, but look to France (it might be difficult for Americans). Their universal health care system was named the “best overall health care” in the world by WHO . Paradoxically the overall spendings on health care in France is actually less than in the US.

    • guest

But, the one thing you are missing is that we are a free people that are endowed by our Creator to make our own choices in this life and not to be dictated by a government.  We do not wish to be like France or Norway.  When you are forced to live by another mans way, you become a slave to that man and you will pay the price that he establishes, just like the tax that is imposed on the people in Norway.  You may want to pay this tax in order for all people to have insurance, but you forgot about the One person who doesn’t want to be a part of that system.  This one person should never be ruled by many, just as many should never be ruled by one.  Deep down inside each and every person, we all want to be free and you will never have that freedom when you allow another man to rule over your life.  The law of man can accomplish nothing, only the law written on our hearts can overcome.

      • andypants

What about roads, public schools, the police and fire department? You need to contribute to what is called a society, what defines you as a nation. If the one person doesn’t want to be a part of a system, you are per definition antinational. Scandinavia has the highest quality of life in the world, much due to our welfare system which you might call socialistic or even communistic. Do you honestly think that you are not “forced to live by another mans way” in the corrupt Washington/ Wall Street that runs your vast country? Filled with armies of lobbyists and lawyers by the order of corporations?

        • Anonymous

No country in Scandinavia has a worldwide empire or massive budgets for foreign adventurism aimed at maintaining hegemony either (not that any of those are good things). Norway vs USA is an apples-to-oranges comparison.

          • Wcbonneytx

andypants, you make great points. In order for a society to be successful and thrive, citizens of it need to pull their own weight. Sometimes, that is through paying taxes for government funded programs such as medical care and welfare. However, kusokurae said it best. Comparing Norway to the US is apples-to-oranges (i.e. the dollar is the reserve country of the world, including Norway). Also, the shear economic size and demographics of the US make it almost incomparable to a small country in northern Europe. No disrespect to Norway, France, or any country in Europe but the idea of true freedom is the message Ron Paul delivers. In order to understand it you have to be able to visualize a society where people make it what it is, good or bad, not the government. Wall street and the big corporations will take their spot in the back of the line if Ron Paul becomes president. Our government’s involvement in the market place is why these giant companies are able to monopolize industries and outsource jobs oversees (i.e. they want to decrease the corporate tax rate< they always talk about it). Regardless if Dr. Paul's economic philosophy will work or not, we would have to simply wait and see. I think the reason why Americans are so excited about giving him a chance is simply because we want real change. Our economy is essentially bankrupt (they just don't want to tell us yet) and following in the footsteps of Greece. What about his foreign policy? We spend billions overseas every year, imposing rules and laws in other countries we have no right to be in. Do the good citizens of Norway not respect a non-interventionist, friendly, and peaceful American foreign policy for a change?

  • Ryan

Ron Paul has come a long way in the debates.  He’s polished his debate skills and can clearly sets himself apart from everyone else who’s playing the political game.  He even got two back to back questions… Whats this?  The media’s giving Ron Paul attention for a change.  RON PAUL rEVOLution!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/William-Schooler/100003032488972 William Schooler

You know there is a lot of people out there generating a lot of ideas and some very questionable ideas because they lack something of substance. Ron Paul shares ideas that if you investigate bare some good honesty, show some good results and can be verified as a genuine statement.

Now some of these others have ideas that align with Ron Paul but very few of their ideas do and looking at our history and the history of those ideas the results are undeniably that we as a Government entity are out of control. For this reason I can only make one real choice if I truly inspect these ideas and am honest with myself.

Ron Paul shares the best and most genuine ideas up on stage and this has no argument from me.

Watch out folks.  Newt’s kind words are aimed at getting an endorsement from Paul.  I doubt they have any intent on supporting him for any nomination.

  • Guest

    Ron Paul rocked it!

Is it just me, or does Rick Santorum look perpetually irritated whenever anyone else speaks? The other three are jovial and laughing with each other. Not Santorum–he looks like he hates the other three. Also, Newt gave us a couple nice little sound bytes attesting that “Ron Paul is ready to serve as President” and also saying there’s something to be said for following Ron Paul’s “rebuilding” of the healthcare system. Are those endorsements, Newt?

  • Em_pty Skin

Paul cleaned up.  Romney and Gingrich were kind to him because they want Santorum out.

  • We The People

Every Ron Paul supporter should make a list for themselves of 10 new supporters that they have can convert to the Revolution. This will increase Ron’s support by 10%. Now if those 10% do the same that’s a 100% increase.
The funny thing about this, is that the mainstream media and the politicians and corporations in general think this is only about an election. What they don’t realize is this is a complete overthrow of the status quo. Say bye corruption!!!

Ron Paul has the most common sense…

  • Steven

I must say this is the best debate yet. Ron Paul is so very comfortable and intuitive in just about every matter discussed. This shows an inept knowledge and extensive experience in his battles for Freedom and Liberty…now we need to get the message out to those who are still party loyal, get the message out to those who are closed minded to even listening to him and those who only worry about personal gain and short term results.
This is our time in history to make the difference, vote Ron Paul, Vote America!

  • Pneuma

hehe…look at the surprise on Pauls face when Newt declares that he is positive to Pauls health solutions… most probably Newt is bluffing and sucking up and Paul knows this, but still its surprising that Newt would pretend to admit his solution on stage.
