You sound sarcastic, but the war on drugs was the beginning of the end of civil liberties. Now instead of protect and serve the law intimidates and harrasses. Because of the war on drugs they are searching homes and vehicles illegally, putting trackers on cars and listening to personal phone calls. They are sending CIA and ATF into foreign countries. They have learned to make money off ofr us being victims.

I think Ron was well within his rights, and walked out rather than “stormed” out. Despite this, it gives the MSM another headline to suggest that he is avoiding the issue. We have been following him for years, but there are many who first heard his name last week.
Further, I think that this Gloria person was actually pretty decent for a CNN reporter. Yes, she kept pressing despite having had her question answered several times, but she also tried to be diplomatic even as he was taking the mic off. If you saw the clip from FreedomWatch later on she went over the event alongside Brian Doherty without being at all snarky, and specifically interrupted the end of the segment to kind of stand up for Ron, stressing that there was more to his political movement than some stupid newsletters.

I think the campaign needs to come out with a statement from him formally accepting responsibility for the idiocy that was carried out in his name, and put the issue to bed for people newly aware of his candidacy and of the larger liberty movement. This video is a good template, and if he could come out with something like this it would do much to halt the media furor. Such a statement should be refined to remove any hint of a combative tone, and the point made here needs to be more concise. One of Paul’s endearing qualities is that he is an imperfect speaker. He has made significant improvements even from 2008, and now sounds in front of 2000 people pretty much as awesome as he sounds on the house floor (usually an audience-less venue). The recent NH townhall was very impressive. Still, people outside of our little world will respond to how the message is delivered at least as much as what the actual message is. It is my belief that if he can shut this line of attack down with a clear and complete statement of truth, he will win by default as every other candidate chokes on their own baggage.

I’d also like to mention that the last clip is from CNN. The very “news” organization that rehashed the same tired questions. Is it right for them to ask again….maybe BUT they need to supply their own footage to counter the first view.

I want to believe so bad that Dr. Paul can do this, and he has my vote, but is this realistic. The republican party would almost rather lose without him than win with him.
